Saxon House, Community Firestation
Location: Newhaven
Year: - 2014
+ Info
As part of an integrated project with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services, Sussex Police, and Lewes District Council, the Saxon House project sought to provide a facility for the public services at the heart of the community.
Saxon House is surrounded by an urban environment, and therefore it was important that the development would be integrated to preserve the landscape character.
A mixture of ornamental tree and shrub planting Provides a valuable green infrastructure to the development, allowing for foraging potential for birds and invertebrates, as well as increasing opportunity for biodiversity.
The added embankment to the western edge of the development, features climber plants and gabion retaining wall to further enhance identity and soften the carpark perimeter.
